Analysis of the biocompatibility of a biocelulose and a poly L- lactic acid membrane

The use of selective barriers as resorbable membranes has become a routine clinical procedure for guided bone regeneration. Therefore, the production with low inflammatory potential during their resorption process goal considerable number researches. Aim: purpose present study was to evaluate biocompatibility poly (L- lactic acid) (PLLA) and biocelulose (BC) inserted in subcutaneous tissue on dorsum rats. Methods: Fifteen animals underwent surgical procedures insertion 4 types membranes: COL (Collagen membrane) – Control Group; BC (Biocellulose membrane); BCAg membrane impregnated Silver); PLLA (Poly (L-lactic membrane). All were into each animal. Animals euthanized after 3, 7, 15 days procedure. Descriptive histological analyses carried out investigate host reaction presence by assessing anti-inflammatory composition associated foreign-body or encapsulation.
